VOLUNTEER PROGRAMME FOR 16-25 YEAR OLDS
This is for young people aged 16 – 25 who have experienced mental health issues personally or through family or friends. Often their mental health issues have affected their self-esteem and self-confidence. Generally they’re not in education or employment. This programme enables young people to gain confidence and experience that can lead to further education and employment opportunities.
Volunteers are trained and DBS checked before helping run Art in Mind projects and group sessions.
PROJECTS/ GROUP SESSIONS
These sessions are for:
Children aged 5 – 11
Young people aged 11 – 16
Young adults aged 17 – 25
All children and young people who attend projects have some experience of mental health issues either personally, or through family or friends.
Past projects have involved: puppetry, photography, animation, film making, graphic novel making
Art in Mind regularly exhibits work as part of Brighton Festival in May and for World Mental Health Day in October.
ONE-TO-ONE SESSIONS
Art in Mind has a team of professionals that can provide one-to-one sessions. Through the use of art, these sessions can support young people by providing mentoring, coaching, play therapy, creative therapy and art therapy.
One-to-one skills sessions can be provided to help young people build a portfolio for GCSE and A level art work.
